Black History Month, October 2021

The theme for this year’s Black History Month campaign is called ‘Proud To Be’. It will invite Black people of all ages throughout the UK to share what they are proud to be. For example, Proud To Be Black, Proud To Be Black & LGBTQ+, Proud To Be Me.

The campaign aims to make Black History Month 2021 personal and unique to individuals, families and communities, focusing on how history is being made all the time in our own ways, as well as the contributions and achievements of Black people throughout history.

Noel-Baker Academy will be celebrating Black History Month and supporting the Proud To Be campaign by encouraging our young people to share what they are Proud To Be. We will also be honouring past campaigners, leaders and game changers throughout black history in assemblies and other activities.
